26 Nov Working on bridal book I Do! — An Insider’s Guide for Brides
It was two months before I was set to give birth to Mateo when I received an invitation from former officemate/boss Stef Cabal to join her and Cit-Cit Sioson for the third installment of the Look Book. A little backgrounder: In 2008 I was part of the founding staff of Look magazine, a fashion magazine by Inquirer which recently shifted into mini style books. The first was Help! I’m a Bagaholic launched last year and is a bestseller. I hardly had to think about it, it was a no brainer! I get to be reunited with good friends whom I love working with, plus I get to do some editorial work again, hooray!
We launched I Do! An Insider’s Guide for Brides last October in partnership with Bulgari at the Manila Peninsula. I Do! is a style book for brides and I even say brides in waiting. We put together everything a bride needs, style-wise, in this book, to inspire you and help you plan your big day. It includes tips from some of the most stylish real brides namely Bea Soriano-Dee, Bianca Gonzalez-Intal, Kelly Misa-Fernandez, Isabel Roces-Trebol, Pam Huang-Hernandez, Beatrice Tantoco Reyes, Cybill Gayatin-Guynn and Kristel Yulo-Diaz, the latest bridal gowns from top designers, to-die-for engagement rings and weddings bands by Bulgari, and makeup tips from wedding day favorites like Bobby Carlos, Paolo Maranan and Mayesa Delos Santos. Wedding planning and execution tips from Rita Neri, who recently did Toni Gonzaga and Paul Soriano’s wedding is inside, as well as gift ideas for the groom.
If you know someone getting married, or you yourself are in the midst of planning your wedding, pick up a copy of I Do!, which is available at National Bookstore, Powerbooks, and Fully Booked, and be inspired. I felt that as a former bride, the book should share tips and ideas you would only hear from industry professionals and women who were once in your shoes. So that’s what we tried to do while matching it with lots of beautiful visuals. I remember talking to women who were married a few months or years before me was what helped me put our wedding together. And please don’t forget to read out Author’s Notes! 🙂 I don’t want to repeat myself here, but what I wrote is what I always have to say about wedding planning.
Here’s a peek of some at the book’s inside pages:
Behind the scenes of I Do! book launch
Just sharing a bit of what it’s like to put such events together. And by a bit, I really mean a bit! Hehe. Because I hardly was able to take any photos as we were so busy setting up the wedding gowns we showcased that night.
Here I am at the end of the night with my two favorite boys who came out to support me <3 One had no choice since he survives on my milk! Hehe.[/caption]
Hope you enjoyed all the photos! 🙂 If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to share them with me below!
