If you've been seeing my posts with the #OliviaWomen or #O hashtags, here's one part of our passion project, Plans and Purposes: A 12 Month Workbook. We put this workbook together for months and it was inspired by the tradition the Olivia Team picked up from our church community. Before the end of each year, it has been our practice to list what we're grateful for in the past year before we list down our "faith goals". We like to look back at what God has done,...

Has it really been a year since I gave birth to my son? It's hard to believe most times, but when I look back at old pictures, I am surprised at how much my kids have grown. Insert crying emoji here! Surprisingly, I was much less of a soupy mixture of emotions when we celebrated Mateo's birthday two Mondays ago. There was definitely more joy and less of a bittersweet taste than when we celebrated Vera's first birthday. Perhaps I had the luxury of more time in my hands to "feel all the feels" or, in proper English, to overthink then. I...

I always love interviewing women and their take on beauty. What I've come to appreciate more these days is interviewing moms who work and how they do it all. It's not just something I ask as part of my job, but because I learn a thing or two. Here's some of my work with Working Mom this April 2016. I did another beauty editorial with them, stay tuned for the photos! [caption id="" align="alignnone" width="648.0"] Photos courtesy of Working Mom Magazine[/caption] ...

Hello friends! <3 I'm back with the third installment of series featuring today's beauty influencers and I'm featuring Mikki Galang, who just relaunched her blog at mikkigalang.com last week. We met a few years back at a Laura Mercier event and I remember complimenting her white eyeliner on her bottom waterline because it was so solid, I could never get mine to keep from fading. Little did I know then that she's adept at eye makeup as she started out her blog by posting creative makeup. These days it's great to see such posts because it adds to the diversity of...

Interrupting my little series with a work update. Here's my beauty editorial shoot with Working Mom from their December 2015-January 2016 issue featuring Lauren and Company's Krystle Rius Delos Reyes. I think she had just given birth a month before we shot this, mygosh. What is it with these mothers who look so great during and post-pregnancy?! Hehe. (Remember Nikka?) I worked with Archie Tolentino again for this shoot and the most kilig thing about thing this is when he posted a photo on his Instagram and tagged @narsissist, NARS official Instagram account, they liked our editorial photo! <3 <3 <3...

Martha Sta. Barbara also known as The Beauty Junkee takes a selfie at an Asus event. I still remember meeting Martha when I was pregnant with Mateo. We were at an event and she instantly remembered me because of her PR work where she invited some members of the media to an event. I thought it was so nice of her to remember me even if I wasn't able to make it to her event :D What I distinctly remember about her during that night, however, was when she shared that she wasn't into whitening products because she loves her morena skin....

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="2048.0"] Nikki Tiu, second from left, with other beauty bloggers and experts at Calyxta's recent event.[/caption] Hello hello! I am starting a new series to jumpstart my blog (ahem). I've interviewed some of my favorite beauty bloggers turned friends to share who they are in a nutshell.  As a writer, I've always been more comfortable asking questions and interviewing, so maybe this is why this series is how I chose to "launch" my blog. Here's one thing I truly love about our local beauty bloggers: Their style of makeup and beauty is so attainable. Their looks are...

My first Christmas activity for the year turned out to be work related. I was assigned to shoot a beauty editorial for Working Mom magazine featuring the expectant Nikka Martinez-Garcia. Would you believe she was well into her second trimester in these photos? I know. Life can be so unfair, haha! Nikka and I met in high school where she was a couple of batches younger than I. Our eldest girls are only a few days apart, and now she's very close to giving birth to her second girl! Here are the rest of photos from our beauty editorial. ...

It was two months before I was set to give birth to Mateo when I received an invitation from former officemate/boss Stef Cabal to join her and Cit-Cit Sioson for the third installment of the Look Book. A little backgrounder: In 2008 I was part of the founding staff of Look magazine, a fashion magazine by Inquirer which recently shifted into mini style books. The first was Help! I'm a Bagaholic launched last year and is a bestseller. I hardly had to think about it, it was a no brainer! I get to be reunited with good friends...
